Installation in one day with no dust or mess. Water-resistant membranes can hold water from a flood above. Good sound insulation. Hides uneven base ceilings. Complex shapes and LED lighting are possible.
Disadvantages for Dubai
High temperatures can deform cheap membranes — quality material is essential. If you need to replace AC units or rewire, the ceiling must be removed. Some developers prohibit ceiling modifications without approval.

Single-level matte ceiling: 60–100 AED per m². Gloss ceiling: 80–130 AED per m². Two-level with LED lighting: 150–250 AED per m². 20 m² room: 1,200–2,500 AED.
