Why hanging mirrors in Dubai is harder
Most Dubai apartment walls are concrete. You need a hammer drill for wall plugs — a standard drill will not work. Mirrors are also heavy: a full-length mirror weighs 15–30 kg, a large wall mirror 10–20 kg. Incorrect fixing is dangerous.
Choosing the right fixings
Up to 5 kg: 6mm plastic wall plug and screw. 5–15 kg: metal anchor or chemical anchor. Over 15 kg: chemical anchor only, or two fixing points with metal anchors. Use dedicated mirror brackets rather than adhesive — they hold more securely.
Correct mirror hanging height
Full-length mirror: bottom edge 10–15 cm from the floor. Mirror above dressing table: centre at eye level (165–175 cm from floor). Hallway mirror: centre at 160–170 cm. Always use a spirit level before drilling.
